Durga Puja does not assume the festive aura without the maddening beats of the dhak.... the large drums that infuse the frenzied rhythm into the festival mood. But, this traditional art face a grim prospect, with the dhakis struggling to find a living for the rest of the year. The festival season however, bring in a different realization.
